Kelly Clarkson has made it known multiple times she's a nerd when it comes to the book and movie series “Twilight.” Loving the story of Edward's romance as she quotes “like every girl dreams of,” she's voiced herself as a fanatic hoping to one day find a guy like that.

In late May, Kelly Clarkson fans were discussing what if Kelly were to appear on the new “Twilight: New Moon” movie to be released later this year. After just speculation, a new song taken from the My December sessions leaked onto the Internet, with a claim from various sources that she'd have the track included on the soundtrack. With a jagged sound and howling vocals, “Did You” was only a track that was on the original tracklisting for My December but was omitted before its June 26th release in 2007.

However, when asked, Clarkson admitted to having writing a song with “New Moon” in mind. After reading the books, she and two of her friends, who happen to be her back-up singers, sat down and composed a new song based on their inspiration from the movie. Jill, who plays guitar, and Kate write primarily acoustic recordings and have released music on iTunes as their own act with Clarkson.

Kelly Clarkson's new song is titled “Empty As I Am.” Just by the title it gives hints that Kelly still has her typical sad/angry/angsty feelings hanging around somewhere inside her. The song she wrote with Jill and Kate however has no confirmation if it's been submitted for consideration or not.

The only reason Clarkson may even attempt to release the song is because of all the questions she's had surrounding the song. Clarkson is continuously writing with her band. Last March, demos of Kelly's leaked that she wrote with her guitarist Aben Eubanks. Only “Ready” was changed in production and included on her new album. Otherwise, unreleased songs won't see the light of day until she alters her RCA contract when she's able to, mainly for the fact that she writes them and labels these days shun singers writing their own material on their own.

As of now, “Empty As I Am” is just a known song that remains in Kelly Clarkson's extensive catalog of unreleased material.
